Maintenance
MUST
only be carried out by a competent person. Ensure that the gas and electricity
supply to the appliance has been turned “
OFF
” before dismantling any components.
Routine Maintenance Procedure:
Check all flame failure devices to ensure that gas is not being issued from
UNLIT
burners. I.e. turns on
each individual tap one at a time and release the knob. In this condition no gas should be issued from
any burner.
Also do the above test on the thermostat.
1) Turn
“
ON
” the oven and the solid top burners and check that the gas pressure at the test point is
as stated on the data plate.
Natural Gas – 15 mbar (6” wg)
Propane Gas – 37 mbar (14.8” wg)
2)
Turn each solid top burner in both full and turn-down positions.
3)
Carry out the lighting procedure for the oven and check that the ignition and the burner flames
are satisfactory.
4)
Turn off the gas supply to the range.
5)
Re-grease the solid top gas tap as required and ensure that the barrel is secured by the two
niting screws.
6)
Turn on the gas supply.
7)
Remove the oven shelves and drip trays.
8)
Brush off any spillage on the oven burner. Ensure the electrode is clean and that the spark gap is
3-4mm.
9)
Check the condition of the door seals.
10)
Check the door catch and re-grease. Replace oven furniture.
11)
Check the operation of the thermostat and re-grease if necessary.
12)
Light each burner in turn and check full and turndown rate.
13)
Check the oven lighting procedure.
