16 Commissioning
Do not start pump without fluid. Fill the housing of the pump with fluid via the drain port
before turn-on procedure. Check drive motor’s direction of rotating after turn-on
procedure.
DANGER
Drive hydraulic unit on low pressure up to the system has completely exhausted the air.
Commissioning pumps for HF-fluids, the machinery has to be driven on low pressure
(30 … 50 bar) for one hour.
16.1 Information
The oil temperature in the tank may not exceed the pump’s temperature more than
25°C. In this case the pump may be turned-on up to the heating in only short intervals
with 1 or 2 seconds.

17 Maintenance
The radial piston pump is basically free of maintenance.
Check radial piston pump at least once per shift for external visible damages and defects
like for instance leakages.
DANGER
Radial piston pumps may never be opened by customers. Unauthorized opening expires
the explosion proof approval. In case of breakdown send radial piston pump back to
Moog or to an authorized service point.
