Soll das Gerät endgültig aus dem Betrieb genom-
men werden, übergeben Sie es zur Entsorgung
einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.

Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Dieser Vorverstärker ist speziell für den Einsatz in
ELA-Beschallungsanlagen konzipiert. Er wird vor
den ELA-Endverstärker geschaltet und ermöglicht
den Anschluß von bis zu 10 symmetrischen oder
phantomgespeisten Mikrofonen. An die Eingänge 2
bis 6 lassen sich alternativ Audiogeräte mit Line-
Ausgang anschließen und an die Eingänge 7 bis 10
zusätzlich Audiogeräte mit Line-Ausgang, auf die
über Eingangswahlschalter umgeschaltet werden
kann. Alle Eingänge lassen sich separat auf den
Ausgang 1, auf den Ausgang 2 oder auf beide Aus-
gänge gleichzeitig schalten.

Aufstellmöglichkeiten
Das Gerät ist für den Einschub in ein Rack (482 mm/
19") vorgesehen, kann aber auch als Tischgerät ver-
wendet werden. In jedem Fall muß Luft ungehindert
durch alle Lüftungsöffnungen strömen können,
damit kein Hitzestau im Gerät entsteht. Für den Ein-
bau in ein Rack wird 1 HE benötigt (HE = Höhenein-
heit = 44,45 mm).

Anschlüsse
Vor dem Anschließen von Geräten bzw. Ändern be-
stehender Anschlüsse den PA-1410MX und die
gesamte ELA-Anlage ausschalten.
5.1 Eingänge
Beim Anschluß der Mikrofone und der Audiogeräte
an die einzelnen Kanäle ist zu berücksichtigen, daß
die Kanäle 1 bis 3 Vorrang vor den Kanälen 4 bis 10
erhalten können.
Kanal 1: Bei aktivierter Vorrangschaltung [über die
Buchse P.T.T 1 (21) bzw. am Mikrofon] werden beim
Sprechen in das Mikrofon des Kanals 1 die Kanäle 4
bis 10 stummgeschaltet.
Kanal 2 und 3: Bei aktivierter Vorrangschaltung
[Schalter PRIORITY (8)] und wenn der jeweilige
Kanal auf beide Ausgänge 1 und 2 geschaltet ist,
werden die Kanäle 4 bis 10 stummgeschaltet, so-
bald ein Eingangssignal anliegt.
Ist der entsprechende Kanal nur auf den Aus-
gang 1 geschaltet, werden nur die Kanäle 4 bis 10
stummgeschaltet, die ebenfalls auf den Ausgang 1
geschaltet sind. Entsprechendes gilt bei der Einstel-
lung auf den Ausgang 2.
5.1.1 Mikrofone
Symmetrische Mikrofone oder phantomgespeiste
Mikrofone an die Buchsen MIC INPUTS (15) und
MIC/LINE INPUTS (16) anschließen. Den entspre-
chenden Umschalter MODE (7) in eine der beiden
Positionen MIC stellen:
MIC
= Low-Cut-Filter ein (300-Hz-Hochpaß)
MIC
= Low-Cut-Filter ausgeschaltet
Vorsicht! Die 15-V-Phantomspeisung liegt immer
an, wenn der Schalter MODE in der Posi-
tion MIC steht. Darum keine asymmetri-
schen Mikrofone anschließen, da diese
beschädigt werden.
5.1.2 ELA-PTT-Mikrofon
An den Kanal 1 läßt sich ein ELA-PTT-Mikrofon (z. B.
PA-1120PTT von MONACOR) über die Buchse
P.T.T 1 (21) anschließen. Die Länge des Anschluß-
kabels darf bis zu 30 m betragen.

5.1.3 Audiogeräte
Geräte mit Line-Ausgang (CD-Spieler, Tape-Deck,
Tuner etc.) und mit XLR-Anschluß an die Buchsen
MIC/LINE INPUTS (16) anschließen, und den ent-
sprechenden Umschalter MODE (7) in die Position
LINE stellen.
Geräte mit Cinch-Buchsen an die Cinch-Buchsen
LINE 7 – 10 (20) anschließen. Mit dem entsprechen-
den Umschalter MODE kann zwischen den Geräten
an den Cinch-Buchsen und den Mikrofonen an den
XLR-Anschlüssen MIC INPUTS 7 – 10 (15) umge-
schaltet werden.
5.2 Taster zum Fernbedienen des Gongs
Um den Gong auch auf Distanz zum Vorverstärker
auslösen zu können, sind Anschlüsse für einen
Taster vorhanden. Den Taster mit den Schrauban-
schlüssen CHIME REMOTE (22) verbinden.
5.3 Endverstärker
Einen zweikanaligen Endverstärker oder zwei einka-
nalige Endverstärker an die XLR-Anschlüsse OUT-
PUT 1 und 2 (14) anschließen.
Wird nur eine Beschallungszone benötigt, einen
einkanaligen Endverstärker an die Buchse OUT-
PUT 1 anschließen, und alle Schiebeschalter OUT-
PUT (2 + 5) in die Position „1“ stellen.
5.4 Aufnahmegerät
Ein Audio-Aufnahmegerät läßt sich an die Buchsen
REC (19) anschließen. Der Aufnahmepegel ist un-
abhängig von der Einstellung der Regler (11) für die
beiden Ausgänge. An der weißen Buchse LEFT liegt
das Signal des Ausgangs 1 an und an der roten
Buchse RIGHT das Signal des Ausgangs 2.
5.5 Strom- und Notstromversorgung
Für einen Dauerbetrieb mit Netzausfallsicherung
an die Schraubanschlüsse DC POWER (18) einen
24-V-Akkumulator anschließen.

läßt sich der Vorverstärker mit dem Netzschalter

1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow

Applications
This preamplifier is especially designed for applica-
tions in PA systems. It is connected ahead of the PA
power amplifier and allows the connection of up to 10
balanced or phantom-powered microphones. To the
inputs 2 to 6, audio units with line output can alterna-
tively be connected and to the inputs 7 to 10 addition-
ally audio units with line output can be connected to
which it is possible to switch via input selector
switches. All inputs can separately be switched to out-
put 1, to output 2, or to both outputs at the same time.

Installation
The unit is provided for insertion into a rack (482 mm/
19"), but it can also be used as table top unit. In each
case the air must be able to circulate without obstruc-
tion through all vents so that no heat accumulation
occurs inside the unit. For the installation into a rack,
1 rack space is required (= 44.45 mm).

Connections
Prior to connecting units or changing the connections,
switch off the PA-1410MX and the entire PA system.
5.1 Inputs
When connecting the microphones and the audio
units to the individual channels, take into considera-
tion that the channels 1 to 3 can take priority to the
channels 4 to 10.
Channel 1: with activated priority circuit [via jack
P.T.T 1 (21) or on the microphone] channels 4 to 10
are muted when talking into the microphone of chan-
nel 1.
Channels 2 and 3: with activated priority circuit
[PRIORITY switch (8)], if the respective channel is
switched to both outputs 1 and 2, channels 4 to 10
are muted as soon as an input signal is present.
If the corresponding channel is only switched to
the output 1, only channels 4 to 10 are muted which
are likewise switched to output 1. The same applies
if the channels are switched to output 2.
5.1.1 Microphones
Connect balanced microphones or phantom-powered
microphones to the jacks MIC INPUTS (15) and MIC/
LINE INPUTS (16). Set the corresponding MODE se-
lector switch (7) to one of the two positions MIC:
MIC
= low cut filter on (300 Hz high pass)
MIC — = low cut filter switched off
Caution! The 15 V phantom power is always
applied if the MODE switch is in position
MIC. Therefore, do not connect any
unbalanced microphones as they will be
damaged.
5.1.2 PA PTT microphone
A PA PTT microphone (e. g. PA-1120PTT of
MONACOR) can be connected to channel 1 via jack
P.T.T 1 (21). The connection cable may be up to
30 m long.

5.1.3 Audio units
Connect units with line output (CD player, tape deck,
tuner, etc.) and XLR connection to the jacks
MIC/LINE INPUTS (16), and set the corresponding
MODE selector switch (7) to position LINE.
Connect units with phono jacks to the phono
jacks LINE 7 to 10 (20). With the corresponding
MODE selector switch it is possible to switch be-
tween the units connected to the phono jacks and
the microphones connected to the XLR jacks MIC
INPUTS 7 to 10 (15).
5.2 Momentary push-button for the remote
control of the chime
To be able to release the chime also from a distance
to the preamplifier, connections for a momentary
push-button are available. Connect the momentary
push-button to the screw terminals CHIME
REMOTE (22).
5.3 Power amplifier
Connect a two-channel power amplifier or two one-
channel power amplifiers to the XLR jacks OUTPUT
1 and 2 (14).
If only one PA zone is required, connect a one-
channel power amplifier to the jack OUTPUT 1, and
set all sliding switches OUTPUT (2 + 5) to position “1”.
5.4 Recording unit
An audio recording unit can be connected to the
jacks REC (19). The recording level is independent
of the adjustment of the controls (11) for the two out-
puts. The signal of output 1 is applied to the white
jack LEFT, and the signal of output 2 to the red jack
RIGHT.
5.5 Power supply and
emergency power supply
Connect a 24 V rechargeable battery to the screw
terminals DC POWER (18) for continuous operation
with power failure protection.
