4. Connect the
DLC
photodetector module.
5. Using an optical beamsplitter, a stray reflection, or by other
means, deflect a fraction of the laser output through the vapour
cell. The
MOG
labs
DLC
is designed to operate best with about
250
µ
W incident on each of the Si-PIN photodiodes. Lensed
and filtered photodiodes are standard, to minimise the influ-
ence of background light, but best results will be obtained if
light from incandescent or fluorescent lamps is eliminated.
6. If using balanced inputs, the second light beam should illumi-
nate the second photodiode.
