MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT
1. ADJUSTING THE BRAKES :
The tension of the MOBIKY brake cables can be adjusted. The ideal tension setting allows a maximum
braking distance of 4.5 m to be achieved at a speed of 16 kph by using each brake separately.
- In order to increase or reduce the tension of brake cable, loosen or tighten
the adjusting knob on the end of the brake lever.
- If the adjustment achieved using the knob on the brake lever is insuffi cient,
you should then adjust the knob on the disk brake (front wheel of the
MOBIKY 12“), the V brake (front wheel of the MOBIKY 16“), and/or on the
roller brake (rear wheel).
- Unscrew the knob in order to free the cable, then adjust the cable and
re-tighten the knob so that it locks the cable fi rmly.
!
VERY IMPORTANT
In damp conditions and on wet ground the braking distance increases by about 40% compared to
what it is in dry conditions.
2. ADJUSTING THE SHIMANO NEXUS 3 OR 8 GEAR DERAILLEUR :
The Shimano Nexus 3 or 8 gear derailleur which is built into the hub is factory preset and does not
require any special maintenance.
This system allows you to change gear when you are stationary and without making any noise, and
it prevents any untimely jumping of the chain.
- In order to change gear, continue pedalling at a steady speed whilst simultaneously
turning the lever, and select the gear which is best for you.
