XR Engine Setup
Both can be verified using the following
objects:
TestPatternControl
and
PatternBoardBP.
Spawn them to the level and place it under
MoSys Stage
.
Select the mode on
TestPatternControl
under
Deafult
parameters. Currently the supported
patterns are: color bars, geometry pattern
and gradient. Use
Toggle Pattern
to make the
pattern visible or hidden.
Optionally check
PPmode
to render the test
pattern in post-process material.
The test pattern can communicate with the
Primary Render Node
, so if the same
objects were placed there, it will bring the
pattern on the LED screen as well.
The
PatternBoardBP
is a 3D object that can
be placed anywhere in the scene, however it
usually overlaps exactly with the LED screen
object mapping, which for XR engine is
XRMarkBP
and for Render Nodes, the
viewports meshes. The pattern on the XR
engine should be scaled up, so it is visible as
set extension together with the pattern on
the LED screen. Depending on the selected
pattern,
a
user
can
move
the
PatternBoardBP
in the scene.
Colour calibration procedure
It is advisable to use an SDI monitor, with an
option to show a vectorscope and a
waveform.
Start from framing the image, so both LED
and the extension is visible. E.g. tilt the
camera up a bit, so bottom half is the LED
screen and upper half is the extension.
Perform the 3 following steps for luminance,
red, green and blue:
1. Using a gradient pattern on both LED
screen and CG extension, adjust low and
high level with
‘lift’
. For that use the
waveform to compare low and high levels.
There should be two curves
–
one for the
extension and one for the gradient on the
LED screen. Make sure all primary colors are
calibrated this way. (you can change the
color of the gradient).
2. Next adjust gain, which is a multiplier on
the brightness.
3. Lastly adjust gamma to correct the shape
of the curve, so both curves match up.
