PICTURE QUALITY ADJUSTMENT

For tracking adjustment at fast playback, reverse playback or forward/reverse slow playback mode, press the PAUSE/SHUTTLE HOLD
button while turning and holding the SHUTTLE ring.
When pressing the TRACKING (+) and (-) buttons at the same time during playback, reverse playback or forward/reverse slow playback,
the tracking is set to the initial setting.

N

• When in reverse playback or reverse slow mode, noise bars may appear on the screen.
• Noise bars will move continuously through the picture when a TRACKING button is pressed and held (except in L12H or L24H

playback mode).

• Noise bars will move through the picture each time the TRACKING button is pressed (in L12H or L24H playback mode).
• When a picture recorded in 3H mode is played back in L12H or L24H mode, noise may appear on the screen even though adjusted

with the TRACKING button.

This control allows you to adjust the playback picture so that the outline is sharper or softer.

N

• This control is only effective during playback.

VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT (Correcting picture vibration at the top and bottom)

The picture vibration can be reduced or eliminated by the following steps.

1

If the vibration occurs in still, slow motion, fast playback (x2) or normal playback in 24H - 960H or 0H mode, playback a tape
which is recorded in 3H mode with this VCR and press the PAUSE button.
If the vibration occurs during normal playback in L12H or L24H mode, playback a tape in each playback mode.

2

Press the VERTICAL ADJUST (+) or (-) button to reduce or eliminate the picture vibration.

N

Horizontal vibration cannot be corrected with the VERTICAL ADJUST buttons.

When the VERTICAL ADJUST (+) and (-) buttons are pressed at the same time during still playback, the VERTICAL ADJUST is
set to initial setting.

When QUASI V-SYNC is set to “OFF”, the picture vibration is not adjustable with the VERTICAL ADJUST buttons.
