5. TEST RUN FUNCTION
5-1 BEFORE TEST RUN
After finishing the outdoor and indoor installation, piping, and wiring, check for refrigerant leaks and looseness of power sup-
ply cord and control wire.
And then, use the test run function. The test run operates independently of the thermostat function and the room tempera-
ture. In case of the models with drain pump, it works during the test run.
5-2 HOW TO WORK TEST RUN OPERATION
(1) Turn the main breakers ON.
(2) Press the
button twice, and "TEST RUN" appears on LCD of the remote controller.
NOTE1 : During the remote ON-OFF control or the centrally control,
button is not available.
NOTE2 : After pressing
button once, if a different button is pressed by mistake, the first pressing is canceled.
(3) Press
button and check if the air is discharged.
(4) Press
button and check if the cool air is discharged.
(5) During the test run operation, the indoor coil temperature code is displayed at the room temperature display part on the
remote controller.
NOTE : The indoor coil temperature code is displayed in the range from 1 to 15, showing the temperature from -40˚F to
194˚F. See the below table.
To check the compressor operation, refer to this code. In normal cooling operation, the code should be fall as time passes.
(6) Check if the outdoor fan operates normally.
(7) As the test run operation has the 2-hour AUTO STOP timer, it stops 2 hours later automatically. To interrupt the test run
operation, press power
button or timer
button.
CAUTION : If the unit is out of order during TEST RUN OPERATION, check the malfunction with SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNC-
TION. (See page 41 to 45.)
If an emergency cooling is necessary for the customer, use the EMERGENCY OPERATION. (See the next page.)
6. EMERGENCY OPERATION
When the remote controller or microprocessor is out of order, and all other parts are normal, setting the dip switch SW3 on
the indoor controller board enables the EMERGENCY OPERATION.
6-1 BEFORE EMERGENCY OPERATION
(1) Make sure that the compressor and the indoor fan are operating normally.
(2) Check for malfunctioning point with the SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION. If the protection function, such as coil frost pro-
tection, is found to be working, remove the sources to release the protection function before starting the EMERGENCY
OPERATION.
CAUTION : If the SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION indicates "drain pump malfunction" (P5) in the cooling mode, DO NOT use
the EMERGENCY OPERATION. Otherwise drain overflow may occur.
6-2 HOW TO WORK EMERGENCY OPERATION
(1) For emergency cooling, turn the SW3 levers 1, 2 and 3 ON; and 4 OFF.
