Standard character LCD is probably the most widely used data visualization
component.Normally, it can display two lines of 16 alphanumeric characters, each charac-
ter made of 5x8 pixels. Character LCD communicates with microcontroller via 4-bit data
bus. A connection to microcontroller is shown in Fig. 22 where there are only four data
lines. It is very important to turn the power off before you place or remove LCD from
dsPICPRO3.
