LEDs
Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are most commonly used components, usually for displaying
pins digital state. dsPICPRO3 has 67 LEDs connected to microcontroller’s ports- PORTA,
PORTB low, PORTB high, PORTC, PORTD low, PORTD high, PORTE low, PORTE high
and PORTF.

Each group of LEDs can be enabled or disabled using switch group SW1 and swich 1 on
SW2, as shown in Fig. 13.
Fig. 14. illustrates connection between LEDs and PORTB of the microcontroller. Resistor
is used in series with LED in order to limit LED's current. The resistor's value in this case
is 1K.
