Find the time step for the numerical time integration. Beside fulfilling the
CFL criterion (first expression in bracket), the minimum wave period has
to be resolved by a minimum of 7 (classical equations), or 35 (enhanced
equations), time steps, i.e.

In case of breaking waves and moving shoreline boundary the time step
is often 0.02-0.1 s in 2DH applications.
In 1DH applications the Courant number needs to be less than about 0.5
and the time step is most often within the range 0.001-0.1s depending on
the spatial resolution.

Find the simulation duration. Most often the simulation time is longer
than 20 minutes, see section 5.2.6 Simulation period.

Then you have to decide whether you should apply long crested (unidi-
rectional waves) or short crested (directional) input at the internal gener-
ation line.
