Run-up on beach
Horizontal run-up
The horizontal run-up is defined as the instantaneous cross-shore displace-
ment of the still water shoreline. The initial value equals the x co-ordinate of
the still water shoreline.
Vertical run-up
The vertical run-up is defined as the vertical displacement of the still water
level.
Total run-up
The total run-up is defined as the run-up distance measured along the a
swash profile.
