Disassembling the Radio:
Reference the Tait Service Manual for instructions on disassembly of the radio. Use extreme care when
disassembling the radio.
Installing the Scrambler:
The scrambler plugs into the TM-8000 using the encryption interface module (EIM) from Tait. The Tait part
number for this is 228-24341-01. The 228-24341-01 should include the EIM, a gray ribbon cable, a white flex
cable, and mounting screws for the scrambler and EIM.
1. Set the links on the Tait EIM as follows and remove resistor R-27 from the interface:

2. Plug the scrambler into the EIM using the white flex cable. See picture below:
3. Mount the scrambler onto the EIM as shown in the picture below:
