Operator Manual

About this manual

This is the operation manual for the DL451 Modular I/O.  It is intended to help get your 
DL451 Modular I/O installed and in operation as quickly as possible by giving you 
unpacking, installation, connection, setting up and operating instructions.  To help 
familiarise you with the DL451 Modular I/O there is a description of the front and rear 
panels, along with easy-to-follow user instructions.

The following chapter gives a brief overview of the XL8 Live Performance System and 
includes system interconnection details.  However, if you want to learn more about the 
XL8 Live Performance System, please go on to read the XL8 Control Centre operator 
manual (part number DOC02-XL8), which provides a full and comprehensive guide.

Intended readers

This manual is aimed at professionals, such as front of house (FOH) and monitor (MON) 
engineers who will be using this equipment in a live performance environment.  It is 
assumed that the reader has prior experience of using professional audio equipment 
and has, most likely, undergone training on this system.

The DL451 Modular I/O forms an integral part of the XL8 Live Performance System.  
The appendices in this manual contain a brief overview of the XL8 Live Performance 
System and include system interconnection details.  However, if you want to learn more 
about the XL8 Live Performance System, see the Owner’s Manual (part number 
DOC02-XL8), which provides a full and comprehensive guide.

Package contents/unpacking

Please retain the original packing for use should you need to transport or ship this unit.

After unpacking, please inspect the unit carefully for any signs of damage that may 
have occurred in transit and notify the courier immediately if you feel that any damage 
has occurred.

The following items are included in the DL451 Modular I/O package:

• 1-off DL451 Modular I/O Safety Sheet (part number DOC04-DL451).

• 1-off warranty card (part number DOC04-WARRANTY).

• 1-off mains lead (part number PWR21-MAINSLEAD).
