“Plane Fit” Measuring Program
Use the “Plane Fit” program to calculate a plane at 3D points. Proceed as follows:
-
If applicable, select the input data for the program (see below, section “1” and Chap.
-
If necessary, limit the range for the plane calculation in order to eliminate interfering points (see
section “E” and Chap.
and
-
If required, activate the optimized fit and enter a suitable threshold for the optimized fit (see below,
section “2”).
-
If applicable, select measured values that are to be used later for calculation, OK/nOK assessment,
logging and output (see below, section “H” and Chap.
The measuring program outputs the following measured values:
-
Angle to x axis: The angle of the calculated plane with respect to the X axis.
-
Angle to y axis: The angle of the calculated plane with respect to the Y axis.
-
Angle to z axis: The angle of the calculated plane with respect to the Z axis.
-
Distance to origin:
The distance between the plane and the origin of the coordinate system.
-
Center of gravity x: The X coordinate of the center of gravity of the points that were used to calcu-
late the plane.
-
Center of gravity y: The Y coordinate of the center of gravity of the points that were used to calcu-
late the plane.
-
Center of gravity z: The Z coordinate of the center of gravity of the points that were used to calcu-
late the plane.
-
Number of points: The number of points in the point cloud that were used to calculate the plane.
-
Sigma: The standard deviation of the distances between the points that were used to calculate the
plane and the calculated plane.
-
Peak to Valley (PV):
The distance between the highest and lowest point relative to the calculated
plane. The highest and lowest point is determined from the points that were used to calculate the
plane.
