Closing the Technology Bay
To close the Technology Bay, replace the work surface and make it secure.
1. Place the work surface on the cart by slipping the opening slot over the laptop display (if the
computer is present) and starting with the back edge of the work surface slightly off and
below the top of the back of the cart, pull it forward until it catches.
Placing the Work Surface onto the Cart
2. Lower the front of the work surface onto the cart in reverse of how it was removed (see
Section "Opening the Technology Bay" above). Ensure that the work surface comes down
completely over the Technology Bay housing (you should only be able to lift it from the front
since the back should be caught on the back edge of the housing).
3. Secure the work surface:
a. Key Lock option: Insert the key and turn it to the right. Remove key and ensure the
work surface does not lift up from the front or back.
b. Pad Lock option: Insert pad lock hasp in loop and lock it. Ensure the work surface does
not lift up from the back.
c. No Lock option: Install the six Phillips head fasteners and tighten. The fastener holes
are located under the edge of the work surface that extends beyond the Technology Bay
housing, two under the front edge and two each under the side edges left and right.
Installing the Computer
A notebook style laptop computer is installed by: opening the Technology Bay, placing and
securing the laptop on the computer tray with the display open, adjusting the angle height of the
tray for optimum position to the work surface, connecting required electrical connections and
closing and securing the Technology Bay.
1. Remove the work surface. See Section "Opening the Technology Bay” above.
2. Place the computer securely on the computer tray. One of two methods available to attach
the computer to the tray are:
a. Eight squares of Velcro tape provided with the cart: Peel backing off from each of four
Velcro squares and attach to the corners on the bottom of the computer. Peel backing
off from each of four Velcro squares and place them in matching locations on the
computer tray. Place the computer on the tray and press to secure the computer with
the Velcro squares.
b. Velcro strap provided with the cart: Open the laptop and loop the strap under the tray
and over across the keyboard area of the laptop. Attach and secure the ends of the
strap so the computer is secure and does not move.
