Insert the mechanical key into the lock as far
as the stop.

Turn the mechanical key from position

counter-clockwise as far as it will go to posi-
tion

The trunk lid unlocks and opens slightly.

Turn the mechanical key back to position

and remove it.

Insert the mechanical key into the SmartKey

Close the lock cover.

General notes

The trunk lid swings upwards when opened.
Therefore, make sure that there is sufficient
clearance above the trunk lid.
The opening dimensions of the trunk lid can be
found in the "Vehicle data" section

If the trunk lid can no longer be unlocked:

using the SmartKey, or

using HANDS-FREE ACCESS, or

using the remote operating switch in the door
control panel:
Use the emergency release.

Take the mechanical key out of the SmartKey
(

page 78).

Push in the top of star

on the trunk lid.
The cover folds open

Insert the mechanical key with the grip facing
upwards into the trunk lid lock as far as the
stop.

Turn the mechanical key from position

Trunk emergency release from inside
You can unlock the trunk lid from the inside with
the emergency release button.

The trunk lid unlocks and opens.
The trunk lid can be unlocked with the trunk lid
emergency release when the vehicle is station-
ary or while driving.
The trunk lid emergency release does not unlock
the trunk lid if the battery is disconnected or
discharged.
