A djusting H eadlam p (Halogen)
C orrect headlam p adjustm ent is
extrem ely important.
To check and readjust a headlam p
do the following:
• Horizontal aim will change and
m ust be corrected as described
below, w he ne ver a vertical
adjustm ent is made.
• Low beam adjustm ents
sim ultaneously aim the high
beam and fog lamp.
• Vehicle should have a norm al
trunk load.
1. Park vehicle on level surface 3
approxim ately

inches
(152 mm) from a vertical test
screen or wall. The centerline of
the vehicle m ust be at a 90° 4.
angle to the test screen.
2. Using a “T ” square and a
carpenter's level, align and m ark 5
a vertical centerline (

) on the
test screen using the outer
reference point (low beam)
found on each headlam p lens.
As a check, the distance
between centerlines should be
47 1/4 inches (1198 mm).
M ove vehicle on the level
surface 25 fe et (7.6 m) straight
back from the wall.
O pen hood, depress latch (1),
and rem ove access cover (2)
from the headlam p.
V ertical headlam p aim
(low beam s on):
Turn adjusting screw (3) (coun­
terclockw ise to adjust headlam p
dow nw ard, clockw ise upward)
until bubble in the level (4) is
centered on the “0 ” mark.
G raduations: 0.18° pitch.
