Upholstery
Using aftermarket seat covers or
wearing clothing that have the ten­
dency to give off coloring (e.g. when
wet, etc.) may cause the upholstery
(velour for example) to become per­
manently discolored. By lining the
seats with a proper intermediate
cover, contact-discoloration will be
prevented.
Leather Upholstery
Wipe leather upholstery with a damp
cloth and dry thoroughly or clean with
MB leather care. Exercise particular
care when cleaning perforated leather
as its underside should not become
wet.
Velour Upholstery
Pressure marks resulting from damp­
ness and heat may appear to be
stains. Such marks can be removed
by wiping with a moistened brush,
ironing with a wet cloth or by treating
with a dry shampoo. Do not sit on
damp upholstery. Quick drying is
achieved by applying hot air - for
example, by using a hair dryer. If in
doubt, please consult your authorized
MERCEDES-BENZ dealer.
Amaretta Upholstery
Use a mild detergent and water solu­
tion for cleaning.
Clean and brush the upholstery regu­
larly. Dirt and stains should be
removed as soon as possible.
Removing dirt, cigarette ashes, etc.:
Remove loose dirt with a vacuum
cleaner. If dirt cannot be picked up
with a vacuum cleaner, press a piece
of tape against the dirt spot and lift it
off with the tape. Afterwards use a
nylon brush (do not use a metal bris­
tle brush) to brush up the fabric.
Cleaning water soluble stains:
Soft drinks, juices, etc., can be
treated with a solution of a mild deter­
gent and water, such as used for fine
fabrics. Before treating the stain
itself, the solution should be tested
on the material in an area hidden from
direct view.
With a clean piece of cloth dabbed in
the washing solution, rub the stain
lightly, working towards its center. Do
not use excessive pressure. Using a
fresh, clean piece of cloth, rinse the
spot with clean water. Let the uphol­
stery dry and brush it.
Cleaning oil and grease stains:
These stains can be treated with a
powder spray cleaner. Vacuum the
area once the powder is dry. Repeat
the process if necessary.
Caution!
Avoid using chemical cleaning agents
since they may affect the color of the
upholstery.
