For detailed information how to access SMBus/I2C devices using standard Linux I2C

Activating Power over Ethernet
The Ethernet interfaces ETH1, ETH2, ETH3 and ETH4 on the front panel support Power
over Ethernet.
The interfaces have to be activated via the SMBus using the
smb2_poe
tool included in
the MDIS5 System Package for Linux
