1. Safety notice
• Please read this instruction
manual carefully before using the
grinder for the first time.
• The appliance is suitable for use
in private households or for pre-
paring ground coffee in amounts
usual in private households. All
other use is contrary to that
intended and can lead to injury
or damage. Melitta
®
is not liable
for damage caused by using the
appliance in ways other than
that intended.
• Connect the appliance only to a
correctly installed socket.
• Remove the appliance from the
socket before cleaning and if it is
not being used for longer periods.
• Check the grinding chamber
for presence of foreign objects
before using.
• Do not remove the hopper lid
until the grinding wheel has
come to a complete standstill.
• Never place fingers or hands
near the grinding wheel and/or
the ground coffee outlet while
operating.
• Do not let the power cord hang
free or touch any hot surfaces
(e.g. oven-plates).
• Do not use the appliance if the
power cable is damaged.
• Never immerse the appliance in
water and do not use abrasives,
harsh cleaning solutions or hard
brushes for cleaning.
• Do not put any parts of the
appliance in the dishwasher.
• Always use a soft brush to clean
the grinding wheel. Do not use
water or soap for cleaning.
• This appliance shall not be used
by children. Keep the appliance
and its cord out of reach of
children.
• The appliance can be used by
people with limited physical,
sensory or mental aptitude, or
who have limited experience or
knowledge, if they are supervised
or instructed in how to use the
appliance safely and have under-
stood the dangers involved in
using it.
• Children must not play with the
appliance.
• Replacing the power cable and any
other repairs should only be carried

customer
service or by an authorized repair
