9.5 Cleaning the milk unit („Intensive Cleaning“ programme)
With the “Intensive Cleaning” programme, the milk unit is cleaned thorough -
ly with a cleaning agent.
Caution!
Only use the Melitta
®
milk system cleaning agent for fully automa -
tic coffee makers. This cleaning agent is specially designed for
the Melitta
®
CAFFEO
®
CI
®
. The use of other cleaning agents can
damage the appliance.
• If necessary, clean the milk tube and the milk
outlet opening with the enclosed cleaning
brush.
•
Place a vessel with at least 0.5 l capacity
under the outlet (e.g. the coffee grounds
container).
•
Select the Care sub-menu.
•
Turn the rotary switch until Intensive Clea -
ning is highlighted and press it to confirm the
selection.
•
Turn the rotary switch until Start is high -
lighted and press it to start the programme.
•
Fill the milk container with 50 ml of milk sys -
tem cleaning agent and then fill it up to the
0.5 l mark with warm tap water.
•
Connect the tube to the milk container and to the outlet and press
the rotary switch to confirm.
→ The “Intensive Cleaning” programme will start. This will release
steam from the machine and hot cleaning liquid will flow out of the
outlet.
