The special Register 0x18 puts the scanner into the operation mode without FiFO. This operation mode
makes only sense for ISA electronic cards. Therefore this register is not discussed further in this manual.
The register address 0x18 should not be used in the application software!

This register controls the algorithm responsible fort he profile detection in the FPGA. A change in setting
should be made only, when the result could be verified immediately. When no improvement is achieved,
you should immediately set back default value = see page 17.
