• Keep visitors away from the workplace. All visitors and onlookers, especially
children and frail persons, should be kept at an appropriate distance from the
workplace. Do not allow people in the vicinity to come into close contact with
the tool or the extension cord.
• Store the tool in a safe place. When the tools are not in use they must be
stored in a dry, high location or locked away, out of the reach of children and
unauthorised persons.
• Do not force the tool. Using the right tools means the work will be performed
better and safer and at the intended speed.
• Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery.
These can get caught in moving parts. Wear rubber gloves and non-slip shoes
recommended for working outdoors. Wear hair protection on long hair.
• Use safety equipment.. Always wear safety glasses and ear protection.
• Exercise care with the power cord. Never pull the power cord to disconnect the
tool from the mains socket. Keep the power cord away from heat, oil and sharp
edges.
• Taking care of tools. Keep the tools clean to ensure they function well and
safely and follow the instructions regarding the replacement of accessories.
Inspect extension cords regularly and replace them if they are damaged.
• Keep tools clean, dry and free from oil and grease.
• Switch off tools that are not being used. Turn off the power supply and remove
the plug from the mains socket before servicing, when changing accessories
and when not in use.
• Avoid accidental starting. Always make sure the power switch is switched off
before the tool is connected to the mains supply. Do not carry a connected
power tool with your finger on the power switch.
• Used extension cords designed for indoor use. When working outdoors, only
use extension cords designed and approved for outdoor use and which are
labelled accordingly.
• Stay alert. Plan the work. Use your common sense. Exercise care. Never use
electrical appliances if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medication.
• Check that none of the parts are damaged before use.
