Kickback can caused by using the tool incorrectly, or for a purpose for which it was not intended. The
following safety precautions can reduce the risk of kickback.
•
Hold the tool firmly with both your thumb and fingers round the handles. Position your body and arms
so that you withstand the force from potential kickback. By taking suitable preventive measures you
can counteract any kickback. Never release your grip on the tool.
•
Avoid unusual postures, and do not saw above shoulder height. This will prevent unintentional
contact with the tip of the bar, and give you better control of the chainsaw in unexpected situations.
•
Only use spare parts, bars and chains recommended by the manufacturer. The use of other parts can
result in kickback and/or cause the chain to break.
•
Follow the instructions of the manufacturer when sharpening and maintaining the chain. If the depth
inhibitors are too low, this can increase the risk of kickback.

The tool should be connected to the mains supply via a residual current device with a maximum
tripping current of 30 mA.
•
Route the power cord so that there is no risk of it getting stuck in branches or other objects.
•
Beginners should practice sawing round timber on a sawhorse, or the equivalent.
IMPORTANT:
