3.  (Foot Control) Pressure Relief Button Check

• 

Connect the foot control to a compressed gas source.

• 

Pressurize the foot control.

• Turn 

off  the compressed gas source.

• 

Press the Pressure Relief Button.

• Confi rm that the compressed gas has been released and the gage on the foot control drops to zero.

4.  (Foot Control) Finger/Foot Control Switch Functionality Check

• 

Place the switch in the 

 position.

• Confi rm the foot pedal is depressed.
• 

Place the switch in the 

 position.

• Confi rm the foot pedal is released.

5.  (Foot Control) Visually inspect the Legend and Triton port plugs for any signs of wear or damage and confi rm that they  

remain connected to the foot control.

6.  (Foot Control) Visually inspect the foot control pedal for any build-up of debris or indication of damage. Ensure the pedal 

moves freely.

7.  (Foot Control) Pedal Check

• 

Attach a Gold or Platinum motor to the foot control.

• 

Connect the foot control to a compressed gas source.

• 

Depress the foot control and run the motor for a short duration.

• 

Release the foot control and observe the motor. If the motor continues to run aft er the foot pedal control lever is 
released, 

DO NOT

 use and return the foot control to MPSS for service.
