16. Longer periods without use
If the appliance is not going to be used for a longer period of time, proceed as fol-
lows to safely store and protect the appliance.
First set the temperature control (8) to
0
and then remove the plug from the
mains socket.
Clear out the appliance.
Clean the cooling chamber and ice cube compartment (1) and leave to dry.
Carefully clean all fittings [incl. wire shelf (6)].
Leave the door open to avoid unpleasant odours and to prevent mould from
forming.
17. Measures in case of power failure
Food must not be refrozen, even if it has not fully defrosted.
In case of a power failure, check the condition of food before eating (see also
“3.4. Use of the appliance” on page 48).
18. Disposal
Pull the mains plug out of the mains socket.
Remove the door or tape the door closed.
Leave the wire shelf in the appliance so that no-one, for example a child, can
climb into the appliance.
During disposal, please note that the appliance/insulation contains cyclopen-
tane (a flammable expanded gas for insulation).
The appliance/insulation must be disposed of correctly.
Appliance
All old appliances marked with the symbol shown must not be disposed
of in normal household waste.
In accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU, the appliance must be proper-
ly disposed of at the end of its service life.
This involves separating the materials in the appliance for the purpose
of recycling and minimising the environmental impact.
Take old appliances to an electrical scrap collection point or a recycling
centre.
Contact your local waste disposal company or your local authority for
more information on this subject.
Packaging
Your appliance has been packaged to protect it from damage in transit.
Packaging materials are raw materials and can therefore be reused or re-
cycled.
