To drain and add oil to the conditioner gearbox, carry out the following procedure:
The procedure above is similar for the others, except for the mower bar as follows.
On completion, always ensure all plugs are installed and tightened securely. After this
replace the oil once per season or once per 250 hours, whichever comes first.
1.
Remove the drain plug (C) and drain oil into a
suitable container. This is best carried out while the
oil is still warm, i.e. soon after use. Replace the
drain plug (C), tighten and dispose of waste oil
responsibly.
2.
Remove the breather (A) and plug (B). Add approx.
2.5 L of SAE 80W/90 grade oil or until oil begins to
flow from the sight-level hole (B) when the correct
quantity of oil is added. (After this replace the oil
once per season or once per 250 hours, whichever
comes first)
3.
Replace the level-plug (B) and breather (A) and
tighten securely.
Mower bar (Type X) with filler plug on top
Add 6 litres of SAE 80/90 grade oil through filler plug
(A). Once filler plug (A) is removed, the mower bar is
simply dipped to measure (6 mm) oil depth from the
bottom when level (after it is allowed to settle for at
least 10 mins). In this case the mower bar is set
perfectly level in both directions, so the headstock
will be leaning back approximately 5°.
Mower bar (Type Y) with filler plug on side
On this mower bar the filler plug (A) also acts as the
level plug (B). Set the headstock level vertically and
ensure the mower bar is set level longitudinally. Add
6 litres of SAE 80W/90 grade oil or until oil begins to
seep out. Note: With the headstock set level
vertically the mower bar sits at a forward slope of
approximately 5°.
