The active monitor loudspeaker is intended for the ampli
fi
cation and playback of audio signals from audio
devices.
The input may only be connected to the low-level audio outputs from audio devices.
This product is only approved for connection to 220-240 V / 50-60 Hz AC via an earthed mains socket.
The product may only be used indoors; never outdoors. Do not expose to moisture, for example in bathrooms
or similar spaces.
Any use other than that described above will lead to damage to the product and involves other risks, such as
short circuits,
fi
re or electrical shocks.
No part of the product must be modi
fi
ed or converted in any way. Do not open the casing!
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
This product complies with the applicable National and European speci
fi
cations.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these
safety instructions! We do not assume liability for any resulting damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper
use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases, the warranty will be
null and void.
The exclamation mark indicates important information in these operating instructions.
Please read all the instructions before using this device; they contain important informa-
tion on its correct operation.
The lightening symbol in a triangle warns you against unprotected live components or
elements inside the housing or „live“ connection points. Coming into contact with these
components or connection points may be fatal.
Cables connected to such connection points may only be connected by an expert or you
must use ready-to-connect cables.
The device contains no parts that are to be serviced by the user. Therefore, do not open
the device.
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversions and/or modi
fi
cations to the product are not permitted.
• All persons operating, installing, setting up, commissioning or servicing this device must be trained and
appropriately quali
fi
ed and they must follow these operating instructions.
• Never touch the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• The device is manufactured according to protection class 1. Only use a standard mains socket (220-240 V /
50-60 Hz connected to the public supply network with an earthed contact as the voltage source.
• Extra care should be taken when using the device for the
fi
rst time. Therefore, please follow the operating
instructions carefully.
• Further, always observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are connected to the
active monitor loudspeaker.
• Make sure the mains cable is not pinched, bent, damaged by sharp edges or otherwise subjected to me-
chanical strain. Avoid excess thermal stress on the mains cable due to excess heat or cold. Do not modify
the mains cable. This may damage the mains cable. A damaged power cable can result in a life-threatening
electric shock.
• If the power cable is damaged, do not touch it. First, switch off the appropriate mains socket (e.g. via the
respective circuit-breaker) and then carefully pull the mains plug from the socket. Separate the mains cable
from the device. Never use the product if the power cable is damaged.
• In order to completely separate the device from the mains, you have to remove the mains plug from the wall
socket. It is not suf
fi
cient to turn off the active monitor loudspeaker at the on/off switch.
• Ensure there is adequate ventilation for the device during operation. Do not cover the device with maga-
zines, blankets, curtains or similar. Keep a minimum distance of approx. 15 cm from other devices.
• This product is not a toy, it is not suitable for children. Children are not aware of the potential dangers
involved when using electrical devices.
• Never pour liquids over electrical devices and never place objects
fi
lled with liquid on top of them (e. g.
vases). You run the risk of causing a
fi
re or a fatal electric shock. If this is the case, de-energise the ap-
propriate socket (e.g. switch off circuit breaker) before removing the plug-in mains unit from the socket.
Disconnect all cables from the device. Do not use the product afterwards. Take it to a specialized workshop.
• Do not place naked
fl
ames such as burning candles on top of the device.
• Do not keep any magnetic storage media such as disks, video cassettes or similar close to the active moni-
tor loudspeaker as the magnetic
fi
eld of the loudspeaker may corrupt the information stored on these media.
• Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hearing.
• Do not expose the active monitor loudspeaker to high temperatures, drips or water spray, strong vibrations
or high humidity.
• Only use the product in a moderate climate, never in tropical climates.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. They may become dangerous playthings for
children.
• Moreover, please observe the additional safety instructions in the individual chapters of this operating
manual.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s Liability Insurance Asso-
ciation for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed. As the operator, you must obtain
information from the authorities in charge and you are responsible for observing the applicable laws and
regulations.

Set-up
When setting it up with other equipment, make sure that the appliance is well ventilated.
Keep a suf
fi
cient distance from heat sources. Do not place the active monitor loud-
speaker in the direct vicinity of heat sources, such as a heater. Do not point any strong
beams or light sources onto the device. This may cause overheating (risk of
fi
re!).
The device‘s heat dissipation must not be obstructed. Do not cover it. The air circulation
must not be obstructed by objects such as magazines, tablecloths, curtains or similar.
This prevents heat dissipation from the device and can lead to overheating (risk of
fi
re).
Do not drill any additional holes or screw any additional screws into the housing, since
this could make contact with dangerous voltages possible.
Make sure that the connection cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges. Always
lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. Risk of injury.
The cables must be suf
fi
ciently long. Avoid mechanical strain on the cables. This may
damage the cables or the device. There is a danger of fatal electric shock.
Do not place the active monitor loudspeaker in the direct vicinity of screens, such as TV
sets or computer monitors. The magnetic
fi
eld from the loudspeakers might distort the
image on such devices.
Only operate the active monitor loudspeaker on a stable surface, which is not sensitive
to heat.
When setting up the device, make sure that it has a stable base and that the set-up loca-
tion is suitably stable.
