1. Intended use
The fog machine heats an appropriately suited fog fluid to evaporating point creating a fog effect.
The fog machine can be controlled by a wired controller or via a 512 DMX controller. This product
is only approved for connection to 220 – 240V/AC, 50 Hz power via an earthed mains socket.
The product’s use is only permitted in enclosed spaces, not in the open air. Contact with moisture,
such as in bathrooms, must be avoided.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you
use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read
the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together
with its operating instructions.

- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• The assembly and the installation of the device must be carried out by a specialist who is
familiar with the hazards and the relevant regulations. Repairs, operation and maintenance of
the product may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
• When choosing a location for your device, make sure to avoid vibration, dust, hot and cold
temperatures and dampness. Furthermore, no powerful transformers or motors must be set
up in the vicinity of the device.
• When installing/setting up the device, make sure that the connection cable is not crushed and
cannot be damaged by any sharp edges.
• Do not use the device on flammable surfaces or in the proximity of flammable objects. Maintain
a distance of at least 0.5 m to flammable objects.
• Make sure that the fog output opening is not directed towards persons, animals or open fires.
• The emerging hot steam may lead to burns (keep a safety distance of 0.5 m)!
• Ensure a sufficient ventilation of the device; maintain a free zone of 0.2 m around the device
and never cover the ventilation openings.
• Always place the appliance on a stable base. Ensure that it does not fall down and causes injury.
• The device’s operating position is horizontal so that the tank does not leak when filling and
operating the device.
Miscellaneous
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
4. Operation
Preparation
Always pull the mains plug before filling the fog machine.
Never fill the machine with flammable liquids or add these to the fog liquid. Only
ever use a suitable water-based fog liquid (the CONRAD range features suitable
fog liquid, see “Technical Data”).
Never tilt the fog machine. Fog liquid may leak out or enter the inside of the
device, cause damage there or injure the operator.
Make sure that no liquid enters the internal workings of the device when you are
filling it with fog liquid. This can lead to damage to the device and can cause
deadly electrical shocks.
1. Unscrew the tank cap and take out the tank.
2. Fill the tank with fog fluid. Do not fill the tank completely to the top, to prevent any overflow
of the fog fluid.
3. Replace the tank and close the tank cap.
4. Insert the power plug into a mains outlet (220 – 240 V/AC, 50 Hz).
5. Make sure the fog machine is in a horizontal position and no fog fluid is coming out.
Wired controller
1. Insert the connector of the wired controller into the “REMOTE CONTROLLER” socket at the
back of the fog machine.
2. Turn the fog machine on by switching the “ON / OFF (I / O) ” button to the “ON” (I) position. The
“ON / OFF” (I /O) button will light up in red and the tank will light up in blue.
3. The fog machine will heat up the fog fluid. When the heating process is completed. The red
LEDs on the wired controller will light up. The fog machine is ready for use.
4. Press the button on the wired controller to generate fog.
5. With the magnet at the back of the wired controller, it can be attached on the body of the fog
machine.
DMX control
The fog machine supports the DMX 512 signal standard. The connection must be made with
XLR-3 cables, where pin 1 is earth, pin 2 is negative and pin 3 is positive. The XLR-3 cable must
be less than 100 m to avoid interference.
1. Connect the DMX signal controller (or the DMX out of the previous DMX slave) to the XLR-3
socket CONTROL INPUT with a appropriate XLR-3 cable.
2. Connect the XLR-3 socket CONTROL OUTPUT to the next DMX device (if any) with the
appropriate XLR-3 cable.
3. Set the address by using the DMX 512 dip switches from 0 – 511.
The DIP switch is a binary setting system. Black areas represent switch positions: a switch is
up (ON, denoting 1) when the black area is up, and a switch is down (OFF, denoting 0) when
the black area is down. Set the address from 0 to 511 (DIP 1 to 9). The DIP 10 is reserved.

4. With the DMX controller, increase the value of channel 1 to produce fog. The higher the value
of channel 1, the more fog is produced.
5. Maintenance
Check the technical safety of the fog machine regularly, e.g. for damage to the connection cables
or to the housing.
Always observe the following safety instructions before cleaning or servicing the device:
• Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or parts are removed unless this can
be done by hand.
• Contact points may also be live.
• If the appliance needs to be opened for calibrating, servicing, repairing or replacing parts or
assemblies, it must be disconnected from all sources of current first.
• If servicing or repairs inside the appliance are necessary, this must be carried out by a
specialist who is familiar with the risks involved and with the relevant regulations.
• Capacitors in the device can still carry a charge even if the device has been disconnected
from all voltage sources.
Fuse replacement
Do not repair fuses or bridge the fuse holders.
