moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it
from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• The assembly and the installation of the device must be carried out by a specialist who is
familiar with the hazards and the relevant regulations. Repairs, operation and maintenance of
the product may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
• When choosing a location for your device, make sure to avoid vibration, dust, hot and cold
temperatures and dampness. Furthermore, no powerful transformers or motors must be set
up in the vicinity of the device.
• When installing/setting up the device, make sure that the connection cable is not crushed and
cannot be damaged by any sharp edges.
• Do not use the device on flammable surfaces or in the proximity of flammable objects. Maintain
a distance of at least 0.5m to flammable objects.
• Make sure that the fog output opening is not directed towards persons, animals or open fires.
• The emerging hot steam may lead to burns (keep a safety distance of 0.5 m)!
• Ensure a sufficient ventilation of the device; maintain a free zone of 0.2 m around the device
and never cover the ventilation openings.
• Always place the appliance on a stable base. Ensure that it does not fall down and causes
injury.
• The device’s operating position is horizontal (max. tilt: 15°) so that the tank does not leak
when filling and operating the device.
• The device must be mounted out of normal reach.
• During installation and service work, the area underneath the place of installation must be
cordoned off.
• The area or equipment of installation must be designed in such a way that it can support the
tenfold rated load for at least one hour without being deformed permanently.
• In addition, the device must be secured with a second independent safety fixture besides the
actual installation fixture when installed with the installation strap. If the main supports fail, no
part of the installation should be allowed to fall down.
• During mounting, all the relevant regulations (in particular BGV C1, formerly VGB 70 and EN
60598-2-17) must be observed.
Miscellaneous
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
4. Mounting
Acceptance test (in case of industrial/public use):
Before first use and after any significant modifications, the installation
(including the electrical connections) must be checked by a specialist.
A yearly check by a technical expert is necessary.
At least every four years, a quality inspection must be carried out by a technical
expert.
The mounting bracket is only for mounting the fog machine from above. The
fog machine must operate horizontally, so do not mount it on a wall or other
vertical surface.
The mounting bracket is set up so you can mount the fog machine on the ceiling, or any horizontal
rigid surface. Mount it according to your requirements. However, this is optional and does not
affect the fog generating function of the fog machine.
1. Prepare a drill and drill head (not included) of the suitable size.
2. There are three holes on the top of the mounting bracket for attaching to the surface. Mark
the place where you want to install the fog machine. Make sure the power cable can reach
the fog machine.
3. Drill into the surface where you are going to mount the fog machine.
When drilling mounting holes or screwing down, ensure that no existing
electrical cables, gas or water pipes will be damaged.
4. Fix the mounting bracket onto the surface with screws (not included). Use plastic expansion
plugs (not included) or plastic screw anchors (not included) if necessary.
5. Hold the fog machine and use the washers and fasteners to fix the fog machine onto the
mounting bracket. Mind the orientation of the fog machine, as it must be fixed in a horizontal
position.
Secure the installation with a suitable safety rope. The safety rope must be able
to retain the device in case the main suspension fails.
The maximum permissible tilt angle of 15° may not be exceeded.
5. Operation
Always pull the mains plug before filling the fog machine.
Never fill the machine with flammable liquids or add these to the fog liquid. Only
ever use a suitable water-based fog liquid (the CONRAD range features suitable
fog liquid, see “Technical Data”).
Never tilt the fog machine. Fog liquid may leak out or enter the inside of the
device, cause damage there or injure the operator.
Make sure that no liquid enters the internal workings of the device when you are
filling it with fog liquid. This can lead to damage to the device and can cause
deadly electrical shocks.
1. Unscrew the tank cap and take out the tank.
2. Fill the tank with fog fluid. Do not fill the tank completely to the top, to prevent any overflow
of the fog fluid.
3. Replace the tank and close the tank cap.
4. Insert the power plug into a mains outlet (220 – 240 V/AC, 50 Hz).
5. Make sure the fog machine is in a horizontal position and no fog fluid is coming out.
6. Insert the connector of the wired cable controller into the “Remote” socket at the back of the
fog machine.
7. Turn the fog machine on by switching the “ON / OFF (I / O) ” button to the “ON” (I) position. The
“ON / OFF” (I /O) button will light up in red and the tank will light up in blue.
8. The fog machine will heat up the fog fluid. When the heating process is completed. the red
LEDs on the wired cable controller will light up. The fog machine is ready for use.
9. Press the button on the wired cable controller to generate fog.
6. Maintenance
Check the technical safety of the fog machine regularly, e.g. for damage to the connection cables
or to the housing.
Always observe the following safety instructions before cleaning or servicing the device:
• Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or parts are removed unless this can
be done by hand.
• Contact points may also be live.
• If the appliance needs to be opened for calibrating, servicing, repairing or replacing parts or
assemblies, it must be disconnected from all sources of current first.
• If servicing or repairs inside the appliance are necessary, this must be carried out by a
specialist who is familiar with the risks involved and with the relevant regulations.
