Press MAX COOL to select this mode. Max Cool will stay on 
for 24 hours, or until it is manually turned off. 

Door Alarm

Use the Door Alarm to hear and see a signal when the door has 
been left open. 

Press DOOR ALARM to turn on the alarm. If either 
compartment door is left open for more than 10 minutes, the 
alarm will sound every 2 minutes and the indicator light will 
flash. 

NOTE: The refrigerator and freezer interior lights will turn off if 
a door is left open for more than 10 minutes, whether the 
alarm is turned on or off.

Reset the Door Alarm by simply closing the door. 

Vacation Mode

The Vacation Mode feature helps you conserve energy by having 
the freezer defrost less frequently.

Press VACATION MODE to turn on the feature. The indicator 
light will turn on when the feature is activated.  

To turn off the feature, press VACATION MODE again or open 
either door. The indicator light will turn off when the feature is 
no longer activated.

Convertible Drawer Temperature Control

(on some models)

The control can be adjusted to properly chill meats or vegetables. 
The air inside the pan is cooled to avoid “spot” freezing and can 
be set to keep meats at the National Livestock and Meat Board 
recommended storage temperatures of 28° to 32°F (-2° to 0°C). 
The convertible drawer temperature control is preset to the 
PRODUCE setting.
To store meat:

Set the control to one of the three MEAT settings to store meat at 
its optimal storage temperature.
To store vegetables: 

Set the control to PRODUCE to store vegetables at their optimal 
storage temperatures. 
NOTE: If food starts to freeze, move the control to the left (less 
cold). Remember to wait 24 hours between adjustments.

  Crisper Humidity Control 

(on some models)

You can control the amount of humidity in the moisture-sealed 
crisper. Adjust the control to any setting between LOW and HIGH.
LOW (open) for best storage of fruits and vegetables with skins. 
HIGH (closed) for best storage of fresh, leafy vegetables. 

Dairy Compartment

(on some models)

This compartment, located at the top of the refrigerator door, 
provides convenient storage for spreadable items such as butter 
and margarine.

To Remove and Replace the Compartment: 

1. To remove the compartment, lift it and pull it straight out.
2. To replace the compartment, slide it in above the supports 

and push it down until it stops.

NOTE: The dairy compartment door can be removed without 
removing the entire compartment. Simply push in on the sides of 
the door and pull it out. 

Chilled Beverage Compartment

(on some models)

This compartment, located immediately beneath the Dairy 
Compartment on the refrigerator door, keeps beverages and other 
items colder. Cool air from the freezer is directed into the 
compartment through a vent.

To Remove and Replace the Compartment: 

1. Remove the Dairy Compartment first. See “Dairy 

Compartment.”

2. Unload the Chilled Beverage Compartment.
3. To remove the compartment, lift it and pull it straight out.

4. To replace the compartment, slide it in above the supports 

and push it down until it stops.

5. Replace the Dairy Compartment in the space above the 

Chilled Beverage Compartment. See “Dairy Compartment.”
NOTE: The Chilled Beverage Compartment will not operate 
properly if it is not installed directly under the Dairy 
Compartment.

Chilled Beverage Compartment or Door Chill Control 
(on some models)

The control is located on the left-hand side of the refrigerator 
compartment.

Style 1  

Slide the control to the left or down to reduce the flow of cold 
air to the compartment and make it less cold.

Slide the control to the right or up to increase the flow of cold 
air to the compartment and make it colder.
