Twisted Harness
If you notice your car seat’s harness has a
twist in it like shown in
image A
, follow the
steps below to identify the type of twist and
how to fix it.
Identifying the Type of Twist:
There are two types of harness twist, a single
twist on the upper shoulder strap and a
double twist, split around the buckle tongue.
A single twist looks like

and a double
twist looks like image B . If you cannot identify
the type of twist you have from these images
please follow the below steps.
1. Adjust the headrest into the highest
position (see detailed section on page 46 ).
2. Remove the inserts and backrest fabrics
(to expose the plastic seat) (see detailed
sections on pages
49
,
58
and
59
).
3. Inspect the belt below the buckle tongue
near the waist area of the seat and if a
twist is observed, you have a double twist
and if not, a single.
Single Twist:
1. Loosen the harness to maximum and then
slide the twist up to the headrest slot as
shown in
image C .
2. Whilst keeping the twist at the headrest
slot, pull the adjuster strap - tightening
the harness and this will force the twist
behind the backrest. This will fix the single
twist.
