5.0  Specifications

5.1  Conditions of Transport 

&

 Storage

Follow the storage conditions and the storage period on the packaging.

Use MAVIG special coat hangers or suitable MAVIG storage systems for storing protective aprons  

(see MAVIG catalogue). Radiation protective clothing should not be folded or allowed to hang  

over edges, and must be stored away from sources of heat.

Ensure that X-ray protective clothing is kept, stored, or used only within the standard temperature  

and humidity range for the home and work environment.

5.2  Identification of the Product

The production label contains the following information: model number (REF), description, colour, size,  

material data incl. tested X-ray tube voltage range, lead equivalent(s), surface weight(s), CE marking, 

serial or batch number, manufacturer, date of manufacture (YYYYMMDD), cleaning/disinfection instruction,  

care label, corresponding standards, and letter(s) designating the type of radiation protective apron.

The letter(s) designating the type of radiation protective apron have the following meaning:
 

•  L (light): The lead equivalent of light-duty protective aprons is not less than 0.25 mmPb  

 

  over the entire protective area.

 

•  H (heavy): The lead equivalent of heavy-duty protective aprons is not less than 0.35 mmPb  

 

  over the entire protective area.

 

•  LC (light, closed): The lead equivalent of light-duty closed protective aprons is not less  

 

  than 0.25 mmPb over the entire protective area.

 

•  HC (heavy, closed): The lead equivalent of heavy-duty closed radiation protective aprons  

 

  is not less than 0.35 mmPb for the protective front area and not less than 0.25 mmPb  

 

  for the protective back area.

Front protection (RA640, RA641, RA650, RA660) can be designed as a light- or heavy-duty radiation 

 

protective apron.

All-round protection (RA631, RA632) can be designed as a light- or heavy-duty closed radiation 

 

protective apron. 

In addition, a second label is available for your own markings.

Store between 

-20°C and + 40°C
