For programming details, please refer ‘Operator Console’ in Team/
Focus/Empire System Manual.
Pending Call Count Display:
Counts of trunk and internal pending calls are displayed by two
digits on the right corner of the LCD. The left digit among these two
digits indicates the number of pending trunk calls and the right digit
indicates the number of pending extension calls. The operator while
answering and transferring calls knows how many trunk and internal
calls are pending unattended. This helps her to adjust her speed
and priority in the job.
When there are no calls pending on the DSS45, these counts show
“00”. If a fresh trunk call lands on the DSS45, the count becomes
“10”. The moment the operator answers the call, the count becomes
“00” again.
Programmable Keys:
All 45 keys on the DSS45 are programmable. Hence they are also
called Soft Keys. A location can be programmed to perform any
function. The status light can also be relocated. This flexibility is
useful in following situations:
• The extension keys can be arranged in different groups.
• In office installation, extension lines belonging to one department
can be arranged in single row.
• In hotel installation, floor-wise grouping is possible.
• Important extension lines can be defined in both the pages so
that such extensions can be answered from both the pages.
• Unwanted functions can be removed to avoid misuse. For
example, if the conference facility is not desirable from the
DSS45, the ‘conf’ key can be disabled.
• If a key has a hardware failure, the function can be shifted to
some other location.
• Key tops are detachable. They can be moved to other keys.
DSS keys have transparent labels. New numbers and codes can
be written on them.
