Features of DSS45
Operator Console Active/Inactive:
Matrix PBX systems are designed to work with or without the
DSS45. Simply connecting DSS45 with the system does not make
it operational. DSS45 has to be activated with a command from the
SE mode. Doing so the system restarts. If the handshake between
DSS45 and the system is proper, “OPERATOR ABSENT” message
is displayed on the LCD. If DSS45 is to be taken out of service, it
should be deactivated. This could be done either from DSS45 to any
other extension.
Doing so the system restarts. LCD of DSS45 goes
blank. Also, all the LEDs if ON at that point of time turn OFF. The
system does not respond to any key. Trunk calls are routed to
programmed extensions. If an extension dials ‘9’, the call is routed
to the secondary extension. In case of Team/Focus/Empire-USA
dial ‘0’ to route the calls to the secondary extension.
Operator Absent/Present:
When DSS45 is installed and the operator is using it, the system is
said to be in “Operator Present” mode. This happens during normal
office hours when the operator is on duty. If the operator is not
present during evening hours or holidays, the system is said to be
running in “Operator Absent” mode.
