2.
While holding the
lower blade guard up
by the lever, firmly rest
the front of the saw
base flat against the
workpiece with the
rear handle raised, so
that the blade does not
touch the workpiece
(Fig. 18).
3.
Depress the trigger
switch to start the
saw. Always
allow
the blade to reach full
speed, and then slowly
lower the blade onto
the workpiece until the
base is flat against the
workpiece.
4.
You
must
release the
lower blade guard
lever as the blade
enters the material.
5.
After you complete the
cut, release the trigger
switch and allow the
blade to come to a
complete stop. After the blade has stopped, remove it from the workpiece.
6.
If the corners of your pocket cut are not completely cut through, use a
hand finishing saw to finish the corners.
WARNING:
Never tie the lower blade guard in the raised position. Leaving
the blade exposed could result in serious injury.
HOOK
(Fig. 19)
CAUTION:
Always unplug the saw before hanging the saw with the hook.
CAUTION:
Never hook the saw in a high location or on a potentially un-
stable surface.
The hook is convenient for temporarily hanging the saw. To use the hook,
simply lift up the hook until it snaps into the open position. When not in use,
always lower the hook until it snaps into the closed position.
