VII - Controls and setting
Inspection before driving
Before setting off, remember to check the following points. Never underestimate the
importance of inspection.
Element Check to be carried out
Handlebar Ensure that management is:
- soft
- free
- no hard point in rotation
Lighting Operate all lights (headlight, taillight, front and rear brake light,
instrument cluster lighting, turn signals)
Engine oil Check the oil level
Brakes - Check the play of the brake levers.
- Ensure braking efficiency
- Check for leaks
Throttle grip - Check the tension of the accelerator cable
- Check that there is no hard point or resistance in the rotation
of the handle and that it returns to its initial position.
Tires Check tire pressure
Check tread depth (wear)
Check for nicks or cracks
Buzzer (horn) Ensure proper operation
Fuel Fill the tank with the correct fuel.
Do not overfill the tank.
Shock absorber Check the uniformity of movement.
Side stand and main
stand
Check the correct operation of the two supports.
Rules of Conduct
Warning
If you are riding this type of scooter for the first time, we recommend that you
familiarize yourself with its controls and its operation on a lightly traveled road
until you have mastered it.
Before setting off, check that the side stand and the main stand have been raised.
Do not accelerate suddenly when cornering or changing direction.
Slow down sufficiently when braking before approaching a bend.
It is dangerous to ride a scooter with one hand. While riding, hold the handlebars
firmly with both hands and keep your feet on the platform. Never remove both hands
from the handlebars simultaneously.
On wet roads, grip is reduced, braking distance increases and changing direction is
more difficult: therefore think about decelerating in advance.
