INSTALLING PIPE ENDS

Step 1

 You’ll need: 12” Pipe Wrench, 9” Chain Clamp Vice 

Grip, and a 5/16” Allen Wrench. Use the Chain Clamp Vice 
Grip to hold the Pipe (Note: Do not attempt to or have a co-
worker hold the Pipe. You will not be able to produce enough 
the torque necessary to tighten the Ends).

Step 4

 – Insert set screw and tighten using  the 5/16” Allen 

Wrench.

Step 3

 – Use the Pipe Wrench to tighten the Live End (J)

(Note: the Live End should be secured very tightly). Make 
sure it is lined up with the set screw opening.

Step 2

  Insert the Live End (J) into the Pipe, make sure set 

screw is removed.

Step 6

 - Use the Pipe Wrench to tighten the Dead End.

Step 5

  Insert the Dead End (I) into the Pipe.
