Chapter 3
Unit Setup
This section of the guide provides instructions for setting up the 8716P Hybrid NVR. It includes the
following tasks:

“Wall-Mounting the Recorder” on page 28
• “Desk-Mounting the Recorder” on page 30
• “Installing Hard Drives” on page 31
Once the preliminary setup is complete, specify the recorder’s initial configuration using the unit’s
provisioning interface. For more information, see the
Provisioning Interface Technical Instructions .
Then, specify basic device configurations using the March Networks Administrator Console. The
Administrator Console application is included on the provided software DVD. For more information,
see the
Administrator Console User Manual , available for download from the March Networks
Partner Portal.
Mounting the Recorder
There are two methods for mounting the recorder:
•
Wall-Mounting the Recorder : The unit can be placed in an unobtrusive location.
• Desk-Mounting the Recorder : The unit can be placed on a desk or flat surface. The unit is easily
accessible.
Choose the mounting method that best suits the location and your model.
