Remote Helm Operation

Aside from using waypoints and/or a previously laid-out route, you can manually steer the boat using
the

remote helm

option in the

MAP Application

. This allows the drivers of any vessel with the MAP

Pilot to sit virtually anywhere with steering control at their fingertips.

Changing to remote helm operation

1.

Click on

and select

Remote Helm

to

enable the

remote helm slider

:

Make sure your pump switch is

ON

and

MANUAL

mode

is enabled in the application.

2.

Use the

remote helm slider

to steer the

vessel between

port

&

starboard

:

The slider reverts to its center position upon
release.

Trimming the remote helm

The center position of the remote helm slider can be adjusted to the

port

or

starboard

side using the

trim buttons, as shown in Fig. 22, to set the vessel on a smooth left or right turn:
