AVS 24v S-SERIES INSTALLATION MANUAL - GEN 2 VER 4
5
General system features
Poly-fuse protected inputs/outputs:
The AVS S-Series includes poly-fuses on all inputs and outputs except the immobiliser circuits. If the poly-fuse detects
an overload, it will open to prevent damage to the alarm components. Once the overload has been removed the
polyfuse will automatically reset. If you find a circuit does not work (i.e. central locking operates several times then
stops) check the current draw on the affected circuit, as it may be too high. The polyfuse may take several minutes
to reset.
Auto-immobilisation:
The AVS system will automatically immobilise 38 seconds after the ignition is switched OFF. The LED will light solid
to indicate it is in auto immobilise mode.
Arm by remote:
Press the
button on the remote. The indicators will flash once and the siren will chirp once (if fitted). If the
central locking is connected the doors will lock. The LED light will stay on solid for 38 seconds and then flash.
Silent arm: Push the
and
button together.
Door ajar warning:
If the siren chirps for three seconds on arming, a door, bonnet or boot is open. The alarm will exclude that zone until
it is properly closed and the alarm is disarmed then armed again.
Disarm by remote:
Press the
button on the remote. The indicators will flash twice and the siren will chirp twice (if fitted). If the
central locking is connected the doors will unlock. The LED will stop flashing.
Silent disarm: Push the
and
button together.
NOTE: If the alarm was activated while armed the system will flash the indicators and chirp the siren (if fitted) four
times upon disarming.
Low remote battery warning:
When the battery in the remote is almost flat the remotes LED will flash instead of lighting constantly when a button
is pressed.
Panic/car finder:
Press the
button on the remote control for three seconds. The indicators will flash and the siren will sound. To
cancel panic mode, press the
button again once (or push the
button once – Note: this button will also
disarm the alarm). The panic feature will not work when the ignition is switched on. The panic button can also be
programmed to operate instantly when the
button is pushed (refer
Register 1, Feature 18
).
