Setting up Z-Wave Devices
(continued)
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is the preferred method for the Aeon controller. However, the
manual method using the Z-Wave controller may be required when using an AeoTec
controller if all devices are not within the immediate range of the controller within the main
Home Center.
Pairing using the device Inclusion/Exclusion feature in the Makook Home Center TV
or web access Mobile/Tablet Apps.
1. Either on the TV or with an IOS/Android phone or tablet, log in to the Makook App and
go to My Home > Device and chose: Z-Wave Controller.
2. Press
the “Pair Device” icon and “Done”. The icon will be highlighted and indicate it is
in inclusion mode.
3. Push the button on the Z-Wave device that needs to be paired. If multiple devices need
to be paired, you can leave the Z-Wave controller in Inclusion mode until all buttons of
devices to be paired
have been pressed. Press “Pair Device” again to turn off Inclusion
mode or leave it and it will close on its own when finished.
4. In the Devices menu of “My Home”, check if the Z-Wave devices are in “Configuring”
or “Connected” state. The battery-operated devices of door sensors or motion-detection
sensors may stay in “Configuring” state for a while until there is activity in those devices.
They will then move to “Connected” state. To speed up this transition, you can press the
button of the physical device three times. This will wake up the device, and it will move to
“Connected” state immediately.
Note: For any Z-Wave devices that have been paired previously with another controller,
make sure they have been unpaired from that controller before you pair them with a new
controller. Otherwise, those Z-Wave devices may not respond to inclusion or pairing to a
new controller.
Unpairing:
1. With an IOS/Android phone or tablet, log in to the Makook App and go to My Home >
Device and choose Z-Wave controller.
2. Press the Unpair Device icon and Done. The icon will be highlighted indicating it is in
exclusion mode.
3. Push the button on the Z-Wave devices that need to be unpaired. If multiple devices
need to be unpaired, you can leave the Z-Wave controller in Exclusion mode until all
buttons of unpaired devices have been pressed. Press Unpair Device again to turn off
Exclusion mode. Check that all the Z-Wave devices have been unpaired and have
disappeared from the screen.
