Module Interface Cable Connection

This section describes the notes of 1SAE module and cable connection.
Before connecting sync/async serial, ensure the following two points:
The equipment type connecting sync/async serial, which is sync/async
or DTE/DCE
Access equipment requires signal standard, baud rate and sync clock.
DTE and DCE
:
Sync/async serial port accesses external Modem or TA (terminal adapter)
as dialup interface. Sync serial port has two modes - DTE and DCE. The
two direct connected devices work in DTE and DCE respectively.
The device at the DCE side provides the synchronization clock and
specifies the communication rate, while DTE device receives the
synchronization clock and communicate according to the specified baud
rate.
The router usually serves as DTE. For the type of the device connected to
the router, refer to the manual of the device. The following table can also
help you determine the device type.

Rate and transmission distance:
Sync/async serial supports different signal standards and baud rates in
different working modes. Choose cables as per prevailing conditions. The
maximum transmission distance and baud rate of signals are related with
the cables.
