Main Control Board Cable
Connection
This section describes the method of connecting MP2800 control board
cables to the network, including connecting router console port.
Console Port Connection
MP2800 router provides one EIA/TIA-232 async serial console port. The
user configures the router via the port by adopting RS-232 serial character
terminal (normally a PC).
For the detailed connection and configuration, refer to the later chapter.
Configure the router via the terminal as follows:
Step 1: Find a character terminal – a standard terminal with RS-232
serial or normal PC. The latter is more common.
Step 2: Ensure that router or terminal is out of power supply and
connect RS-232 serial and console port with cables.
During the connection, make sure about the ID on the interface to avoid
inserting to other interfaces.
Grounding Wire Connection
The normal connection of MP2800 ground wire is the first guarantee of
anti-thunder and anti-interference of the router. It is required that users
must connect the ground wires correctly.
AC noise filter is connected to the AC input end of router power supply,
whose center is connected with chassis. The chassis ground (that is
protect ground) must be connected to the ground, so as to make induction
electricity and leaked electricity flow to the earth and improve the feature
of anti electromagnetic interference.
