IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be 

followed, including the following:

1. 

Read all instructions before use.

2. 

WARNING

 - to protect against electric shock, fire and personal injury:

do not immerse cord or plug in water or other liquids;

do not immerse the appliance or any electrical components in water or any other 

liquids;

always switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning.

3.  This appliance is not intended for use by children or by persons with reduced physical, 

sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge. Close supervision 

is necessary when any appliance is used nearchildren. Children should be supervised to 

ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

4.  Turn the appliance OFF, then unplug from the outlet when not in use, before 

assembling or disassembling parts and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp the plug and 

pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.

5.  Avoid contacting moving parts.

6.  Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance 

malfunctions or is dropped or has been damaged in any manner. Call our toll-free 

customer assistance number for information on examination, repair, or electrical or 

mechanical adjustment.

7.  The use of attachments, including canning jars, not recommended by the manufacturer 

may cause a risk of injury to persons. Always check attachments before use. Do not use 

damaged attachments.

8.  Do not use outdoors or in a damp area.

9.  Do not let power cord hang over edge of table or counter.

10. Do not let power cord touch hot surfaces, including the stove. Do not place on or near 

a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

11. When mixing liquids, make small quantities at a time to reduce spillage.

12. Keep hands and utensils out of Cup while blending to reduce the risk of severe injury 

to persons or damage to the unit. A scraper may be used but must be used only when 

the unit is not running and the power cord is disconnected..

13. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully.

14. To reduce the risk of injury, never place Blade Unit on Motor Unit without Cup properly 

attached.

15. Cup and Blade Unit must be properly in place before operating appliance.

16. Risk of thermal burn injury due to excessive pressure in the container. Do not blend hot 

liquids. Allow any hot liquids to cool to a lukewarm temperature before pouring them 

into the Cup.

17. Do not blend dry ingredients.

18. Do not place the appliance close to the edge of the countertop.

19. Do not attempt to defeat the interlock mechanism.

20. Never attempt to remove the Cup from the Motor Unit during operation.

21. To disconnect, remove the plug from the wall outlet.

22. Never pull on the power cord to disconnect the appliance from the wall outlet; instead, 

grasp the plug and pull on the plug.

23. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

24. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch 

electrical parts involving a risk of electric shock.

25. Let the appliance cool completely before putting away or storing.

26. Never leave the appliance unattended during use.

27. This appliance has important markings on the plug blade. The attachment plug or 

entire cordset is not suitable for replacement. If damaged, the appliance shall be 

replaced.

Polarized plug

•  This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety 

feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully 
in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do 
not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

•  Do not let children handle or put the electrical cord into their mouths.
