button (Pos. 10) to start the grinding
process. During grinding the weight
counts upwards to the preset weight (+/-
6% of the target weight depending on the
environment and used coffee)) before the
motor stopps. The display shows the actual
weight for 3 s before switching to the
preset weight.
8. PROGRAMMING THE WEIGHTS
The VARIO-W is set at the factory with
three programmed weights. These
programmable buttons only set the
WEIGHT of the grinding process, but not
the FINENESS of the ground coffee.
Button programming (factory setting):
- 1 (Pos. 14): 15 g
- 2 (Pos. 15): 30 g
- 1 (Pos. 16): 60 g
After you have set the grind adjustment
to the required level, insert the grounds
coffee container and press the Tare
button (Pos.11) for the zero setting. The
coffee grinder starts, and the display
(Pos. 17) counts upwards to the preset
weight.
The coffee grinder stops automatically
after reaching the weight. To stop the
coffee grinder at any time during the
grinding process, simply press the START
button again.
If the coffee hopper is empty before
the preset weight is reached the
Vario-W will keep on running per-
manently.
Depending on the required amount of
coffee, you can easily programme the
preset weights:
1. Choose one of the weight buttons. To set
the weight, press the +/- buttons (Pos.
12/13) below the display. Press and hold
the respective button for three seconds
WARNING
in order to advance or reduce the weight
more quickly.
2. As soon as you have reached the required
weight setting, press and hold the corre-
sponding weight memory button (1, 2 or
3) for 3 seconds. The weight shown in the
display flashes in confirmation that the set-
ting has been saved.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above for the other
two weight memory buttons. The amount
of coffee you have to grind depends on the
type of bean, the fineness, the preparation
method and your personal taste. You will
soon find the settings most suitable for
your taste.
