14.13 Refrigerant type change (only for
NEX 9380)
Your A/C service station model AIR-NEX 9380 is supplied
with the standard fittings to operate with refrigerant R134a,
but it can be easily adapted to be used with refrigerant gas
R1234yf.
Contact an authorized Service Centre to ask for the
adaptation kit.
The adaptation must be performed by a technician of an
Authorised MAHLE Service Centre, who will install the
specific components for use of R1234yf. He will also carry
out all configurations and verifications required by the
refrigerant type replacement procedure.
14.14 Air purge
This test is designed to check presence and purge the
non condensable gases.
14.15 Counters
These screens will display the vacuum pump and
compressor hours of life and the remaining time
before vacuum pump oil and the filter dryer need
replacement.
1. From the SETUP menu, scroll until MAINTENANCE
COUNTERS is shown and make selection.
2. Press to display all counters.

14.16 Replacing white sample filter (Refrigerant
identification unit )
The need to replace the white sample filter
oil contamination in the test hose. Replace the test hose if
oil entrapment is found.
1. Switch off the AIR-NEX 9380/9480
2. Remove existing filter by pulling it straight out of the
retaining clip.
3. Discard the used filter.
4. Align the arrow on the filter with the arrow on the unit.
5. Position the filter into the retaining clip on the unit case and
press to attach new filter .
6. Using a flathead screwdriver, rotate the front locking screw
and lift the front housing
7. Once the unit is open, inspect the c
the back of the identifier down to the manifold assembly.
8. Replace sample clear hose if oil is present.
9. Carefully close front housing and secure locking screw.
