Chapter 3 – Cooling
3.3
CLOSED-CIRCUIT COOLING SYSTEMS
The closed-circuit cooling system uses water-to-air or water-to-water heat exchangers, or a chiller.
This system is used when the water supply is restricted or when the water cannot be used for cooling
without prior treatment/filtering.
Note:
It is recommended to use water specific additives to avoid
proliferation of living organisms, and to protect against corrosion
and mineral deposits.

A closed-circuit cooling system simply requires a water tank in which the heat exchange will take
place. The ideal operating temperature of the dynamometer is maintained by a temperature-regulated
valve on the dynamometer cooling water outlet.
