OPERATION
1.
Position the coil on a bench or clamp vertically in vise.
2.
Magnetic Particle Inspection
a.
Place part inside coil. Magnetic field direction is along the axis of coil (longitudinal).
b.
Press foot switch to energize. Apply magnetic particles to part. While energized,
blow off excess powder to reveal indications.
c.
Evaluate indications for size, shape, and relevant locations.
3.
Demagnetization
a.
Place part inside coil.
b.
Press foot switch to energize. Withdraw part from coil, up to 18 in / 45 cm distance,
while coil is energized.
